 Your MediaVaultHD comes with one (MVHD-250) or two (MVHD-500) Seagate 500 GB hard drives. Your MVHD is designed to allow the hard drives to be operated with the lid closed and, for maximum protection, locked. Hard drive manufacturers recommend the maximum allowed operating temperature not exceed 158°F. Even with both drives under heavy simultaneous load the interior of the container remains far below this maximum.
The most common application for the MVHD is as a backup for other hard drives. FireKing has included a high quality and easy to use full backup software suite with your MVHD at no additional cost. For complete instructions in the use of this software, please refer to the help system within the backup software. You may, of course, use your own backup software.
