Assumptions:
- There is no power at all to the hard drive.
- The problem could be the drive, the MVHD cable harness, the external USB cable, or the computer.
Do the following:
Do these steps in order. Stop when you locate the problem. If the problem is the USB cable, internal harness or hard drive contact Customer Service for assistance.
- Try the other USB cable. If the drive works now the problem is the first USB cable.
- Try connecting the external USB cable to a different port on the computer. If the drive works now the problem is in the computer.
- Try connecting the hard drive directly to the external USB cable. If the drive works now the problem is with the MVHD internal USB cable harness.
- Try a different computer. If this works the problem was your first computer. If this does not work the problem is the hard drive.
