MediaVaultHD Navigation Troubleshooting problems and finding solutions for MediaVaultHD

Assumptions:

  1. You have available two Seagate hard drives and two external twin-lead USB cables provided with your MVHD.
  2. You are using the Seagate hard drives and USB cables provided with your MVHD. Operation cannot be guaranteed if you use different USB cables or hard drives.
  3. The computer must be on and operating normally.
MVHD Blue Light Emitted from Enclosure

Do the following:

  1. Check physical USB connections at the computer, at the rear of the MVHD, and inside the MVHD. Loose connections are the most common source of trouble.
  2. Connect the Auxiliary Power (USB pass-thru plug) to another USB port on your computer. If this solves the problem your PC has low USB output power, however your twin-lead USB cable has taken care of this for you.
  3. If the problem remains after checking physical connections open the MVHD lid and check whether you see a blue light coming from the end of the hard drive enclosure (opposite connector end). The image to the right shows how the the blue light glows against the interior of the MVHD. You may also pull the drive enclosure out of the foam to look directly at the end of the hard drive enclosure (drive must remain connected).
