MediaVaultHD Navigation Troubleshooting problems and finding solutions for MediaVaultHD

Assumptions:

  1. There is no power at all to either hard drive.
  2. Since both drives are affected the most likely problem is the computer or internal MVHD cable harness.

Do the following:

Do these steps in order. Stop when you locate the problem. If the problem is the USB cable, internal harness or hard drive contact Customer Service for assistance.
  1. Disconnect both hard drives from the MVHD internal cables.
  2. Connect both hard drives directly to the external USB cables. If this drive lights are lit and the drives are found by the computer (takes a few seconds), the problem is definitely the MVHD internal cable harness.
  3. Try connecting the external USB cables to a different computer. If the drives work now the problem is in the first computer.
  4. If neither drive is found, even connected directly to another computer, contact Customer Service for assistance. It is highly unlikely both hard drives or both USB cables could be bad.
